BRIAN MAY- $210 MILLION

Who would’ve thought that a doctor of astrophysics would one day become a founding member of a band so iconic that their music is still famous today? Brian May rose to international fame as the guitarist of the band Queen. While working towards getting his degree in astronomy, May had to put his studies on hold when the band started gaining international traction. The band enjoyed international success with songs like “We Will Rock You”, “We Are The Champions”, “Radio Gaga”, and, of course, the all-time favorite “Bohemian Rhapsody”, which remains just as iconic today.

In fact, as a tribute to the band, each member of Queen gets a damselfly named after them: the Heteragrion freddiemercuryi, H. rogertaylori, H. johndeaconi, and, of course, H. brianmayi. Outside of his music career, May, alongside other scientists, also worked for NASA on the New Horizons project, a mission focused on conducting further research on Pluto. He also has an asteroid named after him: 52665 Brianmay.
